Basic training is intended for new participants without an aviation qualification. The basic offer includes training for flying sports equipment with a fixed wing – aircraft as well as flying sports equipment with a rotating wing – gyros (autogyro).
The training program of the flight school consists of training in basic procedures and piloting techniques:
- pre-flight activities
- airport operations
- air communication
- basics of flying sports machines
- training of take-offs and landings
- flights at critical speeds
- flights under difficult conditions
- emergency management
- landings in restricted areas
- navigation flights
Flight training shall be conducted in accordance with the approved training syllabus.
The student of the flight school completes theoretical training and acquires knowledge of the rules of flying, aircraft design and construction, aerodynamics and flight mechanics, navigation, meteorology, airframe maintenance, engine and propeller maintenance, radiotelephony procedures and aviation phraseology.
The student of the flight school also undergoes practical training, where he/she will master the control of the aircraft in standard, difficult or critical conditions, as well as safe and operative solution of these situations.
Three-phase flight exercises
Within the practical part, training hours are performed in three phases:
- pre-flight preparation (briefing) – 1st phase
- practical training on flying sports machines – 2nd phase
- flight analysis (debriefing ) – 3rd phase
Each phase must be carried out to the extent necessary to ensure compliance with the approved syllabi.
Graduation
After completing the whole training, the applicant must go for a theoretical and practical examination at the headquarters of the Slovak Aviation Federation in Lučenec, and after successful examinations, a pilot’s license is issued.
