The Komoča Airport and its modern history begin in 2019. The idea of completing an aviation course and obtaining a pilot qualification attracted a few enthusiasts from the Kolárovo area. After discussing the various options and offers for flight training, the question arose as to what to do next after completing the course. A survey on the possibilities of further flying and aircraft parking spaces in the case of the purchase of our own aircraft has brought us the idea of establishing our own airport. The existence of an airport for powder aircrafts built at the times of socialism provided a good opportunity. The dilapidated, little-used area, which was used by various groups for car and motorcycle drifting, offered us the opportunity to restore the area to its original purpose after various negotiations with the current owners.

And suddenly a great opportunity opened up. At the same time, the civic association “White Wings”, which is a dampening organization for the newly established airport, was established. The civic association also works closely with KolArms, which is a great support in building infrastructure.

The airport is gradually gaining its modern form and, in the future, will offer opportunities for flying, parking, modest accommodation and other options used in aerotourism.
